Lets Aspire

For this project we were each assigned a physical location and URL. Our task was to find and create a link connecting the two. I was assigned Wembley Stadium and Eye Magazine’s blog. At first I found this task almost impossible as the location and URL seemed to have nothing in common, however eventually I found a link.
I decided to find something in common with the two and then step back from the assigned location and URL. After thinking for a while, I realised that both can be perceived as aspirational institutions. People that want to be a footballer aspire to play at Wembley Stadium, while creatives aspire to be featured in Eye Magazine.
After finding this link, I thought it might be interesting to see how people’s aspirations change and set about creating a method of collecting data and visualising it in a way that allows the audience to compare how each aspiration and how it has changed. For instance, comparing what everyone wanted to be before they became a Graphic Designer.
Looking back on this project, I’m considering redesigning the visualisation into more of a map.
